The “New (and evolving) Normal”
The global pandemic has up-ended how we connect and how we work, both individually and collectively. Working from home has become a new normal for now but may have lasting repercussions on how organizations view the necessity of an office, in-person meetings, selection interviews or frequent business travel. Even the future of something we thought of as simple as a handshake is now ‘up in the air’. A video interview may well become the new norm, if not used far more frequently. Competently and credibly “nailing” a video interview is likely to become another requirement for successful job seekers. We are all adjusting to a strange new normal, working from our homes with various family members and pets nearby. Of course, we would much rather meet candidates in person but here’s the bright side – a video interview can be an opportunity to connect a little more authentically, with grace and good humour. No doubt everyone’s business has been radically affected by the global pandemic.
We will facilitate video calls on a platform that best works for you. (Zoom, FaceTime, Skype, GoToMeeting, etc.). Ultimately, if and as an in-person meeting is required before making these ultra-important decisions, we will work with our clients and candidates to practice the appropriate protocols and logistics emerging from our current situation. Simply stated – we will adapt to and overcome whatever obstacles and restrictions that become the new way of meeting, greeting and assessing talent, both with our clients and our candidates.
